#BuildLafayetteLanding is Finally Here!

Tomorrow morning (Saturday, December 5, 2020) a national TV crew, city leaders and volunteers will flood downtown Marianna, FL, for a historical moment - to right a wrong inflicted by Hurricane Michael in 2018.

Danny Lipford, host of Today’s Homeowner TV & Radio, is leading the effort to rescue an abandoned lot destroyed by the storm, and convert it into a “pocket park." The park, officially named "Lafayette Landing," will serve as a public gathering and small event space for the Marianna community and will include landscaping, seating, lighting, a stage and more.

The build will take place December 5-10, and will involve Lipford’s entire Today’s Homeowner crew and more than 100 volunteers. All of the work and excitement will be captured on film for a special 2-part episode of “Today’s Homeowner” TV set to air the first 2 weeks in February, 2021.

“My team and I have been planning for this special project for months, and we can’t wait to see it come to fruition,” said Lipford.

“The community excitement and enthusiasm surrounding the park is tremendous — I know the people of Marianna are looking forward to making it happen and being part of the entire journey.

It’s refreshing to have something positive to focus on and celebrate, especially during a year that has been challenging for us all.”
